About

Lithuanian Consumer Institute (LCI) is non-governmental non-profit organization, working in the area of consumer protection.  LCI was founded in 2000.  Main goals  –  to create environment, where consumer choices are responsible, rights – respected, obligations – conducted.

Activities

Education

 We organize consumer education projects, publish educational publications and films, create innovative audiovisual media, organize competitions, events, campaigns, and actively participate in social networks.
 

Researches

We conduct various researches: sociological researches, opinion of consumer and business, secret consumer researches, analysis of legal acts, monitoring of the media, monitoring of commercials.

Representation

Making proposals for amendments of legal acts, initiating new legal acts. We created model of cooperation between NGO’S and governmental and municipal institutions in the area of consumer education.

Consultations

We provide consultations for natural and legal persons on implementation of consumer rights.

Membership

We actively participate in activities of international organizations, we are members of “Better Finance” that represent interest of 4,5 mln. EU citizens.

We are members of SAFE – Safe Food Advocacy Europe was created with the aim of ensuring that consumer’s health and concerns remain at the core of the EU’s food legislation. SAFE is currently the only Brussels-based NGO specialised in the protection and representation of EU consumers in the food sector.
