Financial Dispute Resolution Network

Financial Dispute Resolution Network in the the European Union: FIN-NET

FIN-NET is an out-of court network of financial dispute resolution in the European Union and the European Economic Area countries (Iceland, Noway and Liechtenstein). The network is available to consumers who make non-cash payments and encounter problems in this area. In order to use the services of the FIN-NET several options are possible:
1. Contacting a responsible institution or organisation competent to handle disputes in the area of payments directly in the EU or the European Economic Area countries;
2. Contacting a responsible institution which can consult, assist in preparing documents in the home country. The institution responsible in Lithuania is the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority.

More information about the FIN-NET is available on:

FIN-NET and European Consumer Centres

The functions of the FIN-NET and European Consumer Centres are different. The members of the FIN-NET are alternative dispute resolution institutions.
The competence of European Consumer Centres is not related to the resolution of disputes regarding financial services. They function as contact points that consumer may contact in order to solve a dispute with the seller or service provider in another EU or the European Economic Area country. Thus, European Consumer Centres are not in the position to resolve disputes related to payments.
